Fond du Lac woman gets $100,000 from state

State Treasurer Dawn Marie Sass will be sending a check for $102,774.70 to a Fond du Lac resident who didn't know the state was holding her unclaimed property.
Under Wisconsin Statutes, after one to five years of inactivity, businesses are mandated to turn all unclaimed money, stocks and safe deposit boxes to the State Treasurer's office for safekeeping.
