The dances are beginning, couples are crying in unison at passing threats, and some of the ladies are even "painting" their necks with mud.
In other words, love is in the air at the International Crane Foundation, as the spring breeding season begins and the staff works long hours to ensure the summer sees the pitter-patter of plenty of little crane feet.
