Oak Creek Firm Has Large Olympic Role

OAK CREEK - John Schlueter walks down the aisles of his company's massive Oak Creek warehouse with an air of confidence. Business is good for Karl's Event Rental. The company just finished erecting 625 temporary structures (gigantic tents) for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

  "It's the single largest contract that Karl's has ever fulfilled," Schlueter said thoughtfully.

  Karl's, a 42 year old company, was already taking on large projects. The company has provided structures for everything from the Super Bowl to the Kentucky Derby to New York Fashion Week. 

  Karl's has roughly 60 Milwaukee-based employees in Vancouver and Whistler right now. They are handling the challenging work of erecting massive temporary structures on steep grades that can handle the extreme conditions of British Columbia.
