Packers fan dilemma: (Now a Viking) Favre tattooed on her back

Posted on October 31, 2009 and seen 330 times

At Artrageous Ink tattoo parlor in Green Bay, one learns Packers adulation is a deep-seated kind of love.

"I've just been waiting for an occasion to get one," says Ray Herrera as he watches artist Rob Jensen complete a softball-size Packer "G" on his left calf.

"I've lived all over the country and do packers tattoos everywhere," says Jensen.

Other loves come and go, but Packers fans can count on at least one part of life being permanent. Or so Robyn Hoard thought when Artrageous Ink completed her Brett Favre tattoo.  "Like two weeks after he retired I got it done," says Hoard about the six inch image of Favre on her back, his arms upward in a touchdown pose.

It only get's stranger when the long-time Packers fan pulls over her tattoo a Minnesota Vikings jersey.

"The first time cheering on the Vikings, I'm like what did I just say?  I can't believe I'm cheering on the Vikings," says Hoard with a hand over her face.

Hoard bears a strain no Packers fan should be asked to endure.  For underneath her purple Jersey beats a heart of green and gold.  "I'm rooting for the Vikings!"

Her husband Michael, a Raiders fan, purchased her first Favre Vikings jersey.  "Tomorrow when the game comes on both of us will be cheering on Minnesota," he says..

For Robyn Hoard it's just a temporary change in her football loyalty.  "Number four is out there so that's what I have to do right now," she says matter-of-factly.  "I'm a Brett Favre fan first and a Packers fan second."

Packers fans will tell you the green and gold don't bleed, but do they ever take on a shade of gray when Brett Favre has your back.
