Emergency Call - mother gives birth to baby while on the way to La Crosse hospital [audio]

Posted on October 20, 2010

Expectant parents, Sara and Michael, were on their way to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, when baby Anabelle decided she was in a big hurry to greet the world. Her birth was recorded on an emergency dispatch call. Gundersen Lutheran is the region's leader in births--more than 1,500 babies are born there each year, most of them IN the hospital. Occasionally, like Anabelle, they arrive while mom and dad are still on the way. Welcome to the world Anabelle, and congratulations mom and dad!

Madison's Parks Division is holding its first-ever Kids to Kids Garage Sale from 9 a.m. to noon Sat., Aug. 7, on the 100 Block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.

"It's kids actually running the garage sale. It's their own items," said Laura Whitmore, spokeswoman for the Madison Parks Division. "They will be selling toys and games and dress-up attire — things that are theirs — just like a regular garage sale. But it's actually kids who will be running it."

Posted on April 2, 2010

Keys

A 3-year-old was left alone in car while his 23-year-old mother ran into their home. The mother returned to find the vehicle missing. She then noticed the car rolling down the street 2 blocks away.  Oshkosh Police were able to stop the vehicle and return the boy safely to his mother.

Apparently, the boy had pulled the gear shift and was able to get the car moving.
