Upset last year with the way a customer treated her, a waitress at a Downtown restaurant allegedly decided to give him some unwanted attention: His name in an Internet posting looking for sex.
The waitress, Karin M. Ibele, and a friend, Rachel R. Brazee, both 25 and from Madison, were charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct and sending an abusive computer message, both misdemeanors, for allegedly posting a message on Craigslist last year that made it appear the customer was looking for another man for late-night sex.
According to a criminal complaint, the man learned that his name, phone number and photo had been posted on Craigslist after he received a call on March 1 about 1:15 a.m. from another man responding to the ad.
Police traced the computer connection used to post the ad to Brazee's apartment, the complaint states. Brazee told police that Ibele had taken the customer's name from a credit card and together they gathered information about him from sources on the Internet, then placed the ad on Craigslist.
Brazee admitted to police that it wasn't right, but said, "Karin felt better when we did this," the complaint states.
