An alleged would-be jewelry thief found himself charged Monday with felony retail theft, a good deal more serious than the shoplifting ticket he expected to receive.
Dominique C. Franklin, 22, of Madison, ran out of Condon Jewelers at East Towne Mall on Saturday with a diamond engagement ring set valued at $11,950, but store owner Jim Nielsen chased him down, tackled him outside the mall's food court entrance and got the ring set back, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday.
"Yeah, dude tackled me and I gave back his rings, so can I get a ticket?" Franklin asked Officer Jason Ramirez, the complaint states.
Franklin, who is on probation for prior felony convictions, remained in the Dane County Jail after appearing in court on Monday.

Last week a homeowner in the 1500 block of East Division Street came upon a garage sale sign in his yard. No one asked for permission to post the sign, so he took it down. Next day another garage sale sign appeared. With it was a warning note to leave the sign alone or face physical harm. For emphasis, the warning included a profanity.
Feeling threatened, the man took the note to the River Falls police. They investigated and ended up ticketed a 31-year-old woman who lives in the nearby 200 block of North Eighth Street for disorderly conduct. The citation carries a $177 fine.

...we just loved the title of the story... Boom Boom car, haha!
You can imagine how it goes: loud music in a car + open intoxicants + "blunts" + stupid people = arrests.

River Falls Police arrested a 22-year-old UW-River Falls student for shoplifting a pair of sterling silver Cubic Zirconia earrings at ShopKo last Thursday night. When questioned, the man said he was looking for a birthday gift for his sister but didn’t want to pay the $11 price so he pocketed the earrings. A 22-year-old downtown resident was so ticked off at the loud bar crowd next door he grabbed a bow and arrow and went out to confront the most boorish of the brood, Madison police reported.
Unfortunately for the modern day Robin Hood, the bow and arrow was disturbing to others, with police being called and an officer eventually drawing his gun at the archer before citing him for disorderly conduct.
