5th Green Bay Packers party house proposed near Lambeau Field

Posted on November 1, 2011

A former child care center along Lombardi Avenue could become the newest party house for Green Bay Packers fans passing through town on a weekend.

Some neighbors have voiced concerns about what would become the fifth such rental property licensed by the city to operate near Lambeau Field.

But property owner Debbie Jacques promises to keep an eye on her football-loving customers from a particularly close vantage point: next door.

Jacques lives in the duplex at 1839-1845 S. Oneida St., and she has transformed half of the property into a green-and-gold party pad that Packers fans can rent for $2,500 a weekend.

"I just thought it was a great idea," said Jacques, who modeled her renovation on other party houses in the neighborhood.

Wauwatosa woman comes home to find drunk stranger in her bed (a la Goldilocks)

Posted on April 26, 2011

Like the tale "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," a Wauwatosa resident was forced to ask "who is that sleeping in my bed?" last week. But unlike the sweet children's story of a lost little blond girl, this story appears to feature a drunken man who broke into a home.

According to the Wauwatosa police report:

When the resident entered her home in the 7300 block of West Garfield Avenue at 7:45 p.m. April 19, she smelled marijuana. Then she noticed socks, shoes and a coat on the floor.

Getting scared, she checked out her bedroom, where she found a man fast asleep in her bed. She ran to a neighbor's house for help. They called police, but while waiting for officers, the neighbor woke up the intoxicated visitor and told him to leave.

He asked the neighbor if he could use the bathroom before he left. He was turned down so he urinated on the lawn before walking down the street.

The 51-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for trespassing. He said he remembered drinking and taking a bus to Tosa because he was restless, but he didn't recall entering the apartment or know why he was there. He had a nearly empty bottle of gin and a full bottle of rum with him.

University of Wisconsin-Madison Ranked #12 Party School

Posted on August 4, 2010

When you've been ranked No. 1 in the past, getting bumped to the No. 12 spot could seem like a snub.

So UW-Madison students who pride themselves on the school's hard-partying reputation might not be pleased to learn that the latest Princeton Review rankings put them at No. 12 for top party schools.

'Boom boom' car too loud, two arrested (we just love the title :)

Posted on June 28, 2010

...we just loved the title of the story... Boom Boom car, haha!

You can imagine how it goes: loud music in a car + open intoxicants + "blunts" + stupid people = arrests.

Would-be Robin Hood upset by loud bar crowd in Madison

Posted on June 11, 2010

Arrow_target_bow

A 22-year-old downtown resident was so ticked off at the loud bar crowd next door he grabbed a bow and arrow and went out to confront the most boorish of the brood, Madison police reported.

Unfortunately for the modern day Robin Hood, the bow and arrow was disturbing to others, with police being called and an officer eventually drawing his gun at the archer before citing him for disorderly conduct.
