Powered Green's Earth Day Scavenger Hunt in Madison

Cool! Participate in Powered Green's Earth Day scavenger hunt.

Here's the details:

 

  1. They've placed 40 stickers around UW's campus
  2. They'll post clues throughout the week to their Facebook and Twitter feeds
  3. Find a sticker and take a picture with your camera or mobile phone
  4. Upload the picture to the Powered Green Facebook Page
  5. You'll be automatically entered to win some of the cool prizes below
  6. Each day from Monday, April 19th to Thursday, April 22nd they'll announce a new winner

UW-LaX uses pedal power to fuel concert, awareness

Concert

12 people on stationary bikes created enough energy to power a rock concert on campus.

The group produced between 50 to 200 watts each, enough to power the microphones, monitor system, mixing board and LED lights around the stage... but not the guitar amplifiers.

Monroe company to build electric motors for GM

Orchard International of Monroe, WI will build electric motors for a new line of GM sport-utility vehicles.

The company is looking for dislocated auto industry workers in the area to apply for 30 jobs related to the manufacturing of the electric motors.

Limited production is expected to begin in the next 18 months with the final product being unveiled in 2013 said Bob Borremans, Executive Director of the Southwest Wisconsin Regional Workforce Board.
