The Osseo-Fairchild school district in western Wisconsin has been ordered to drop its Chieftains nickname and logo after the state determined it was race-based and promoted discrimination and harassment.
The order issued Tuesday by the state Department of Public Instruction is the first to come under a new state law passed in May.
