People continue finding and returning envelopes full of cash in Madison

People seem to be having a difficult time holding on to their cash these days, quite literally.
In the third such incident in recent weeks, a 24-year-old woman found an envelope on the ground downtown with more than $700 in it.
She turned the envelope over to Madison police, who gave it back to the bar where it apparently came from.
According to the police report, the envelope of cash was discovered at about 11 a.m. Sept. 17 in the 400 block of West Gilman Street.
"The woman could see, by peeking inside the envelope's open top, that it was stuffed full of cash," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. "Also inside the envelope was a deposit slip for a downtown bar."
The deposit slip had the precise amount of money that was in the envelope.
"The woman called police, and an officer returned the bills to the bar's manager," DeSpain said.
There was no word if the woman got a reward.
