17-year-old prospective mayoral candidate creates fake Twitter account of incumbent- incumbent threatening to sue

Posted on November 21, 2011

A 17-year-old Sheboygan boy planning to run against Mayor Bob Ryan in a possible recall election can expect legal action after creating a Twitter account posing as Ryan and redirecting the mayor's campaign website to his own, Ryan's attorney said Friday.

Asher Heimermann — a high school senior with a voluminous social media presence — launched the fake Twitter account Thursday evening under the name @mayorbobryan.

Within the first hour, the "mayor" referred to himself as an "arrogant, obnoxious, incompetent fool," recapped Ryan's July alcoholic relapse in Elkhart Lake and referenced farting in the mayor's office. By Friday afternoon the tweets had progressed to saying the mayor was leaving to "get drunk as hell" and, "The rumor is that I'm cheating on my wife. Hehe. Shhh. Don't tell anyone that."

SHEBOYGAN- Sheboygan Mayor Bob Ryan faces a new challenge - a teenager who wants his job.

In what's become a bizarre battle over the Sheboygan mayor's office, a 17-year-old has now filed paperwork to run for the job.

Asher Heimermann says he's a better choice than embattled Sheboygan Mayor Bob Ryan.

"It's not joke. I'm 100% serious about running for mayor," Heimermann told TODAY'S TMJ4.

The high school senior sure sounds like a candidate, telling TODAY'S TMJ4, "I'm concerned about the future of Sheboygan."

But sometimes he acts more like a kid. A few weeks ago he shoved his cell phone in Mayor Ryan's face. Ryan shoved back.

"It was a mistake and if i could take that back, I would," said Heimermann.

Ryan's secretary's told TODAY'S TMJ4's Annie Scholz, the mayor had no comment about Heimermann filing.

But some council members say the whole process isn't helping an already awkward situation.

Alderwoman Jean Kittelson says, "It's a distraction to us council people who have a big job to do here as well."

Heimermann says his job is clear, "In the next few weeks and months, you will see me working the streets of Sheboygan and speaking to citizens and see what they have to say."

Sheboygan babysitter gets 30 days for "vampire" attack

A Sheboygan man was sentenced Tuesday to 30 days in jail for biting a 3-year-old boy's neck while "playing vampire."

Mark R. Adams, Jr. was convicted of felony child abuse after pleading no contest.

Adams told police he bit the boy's neck three times after watching a vampire-themed show. The 43-year-old told investigators it was possible he said something about wanting to suck the boy's blood.

Prosecutors say three bite marks were clearly visible after Adams babysat the boy in January.

The criminal complain says the mother confronted Adams, who said "I'm not a pedophile" and punched her in the face.

A message left with Adams' attorney Thursday was not immediately returned.

Sheboygan man spears 185-pound monster sturgeon on Lake Winnebago

Posted on February 17, 2011

Brimming with optimism, Josh Genske posted on Facebook last week that he was headed out to his fish shanty "to spear me one just like last year!"

Did he ever.

The 20-year-old Sheboygan resident — while sturgeon spearing with hundreds of others on Lake Winnebago — pulled in a 185-pound monster Monday morning that ranks as the third biggest speared in the Winnebago system since records began in 1941. That's nearly three times the respectable sturgeon he pulled from the ice in 2010.

A Sheboygan man who was drunk while firing a nine-millimeter handgun from his toilet into an apartment below has been sentenced to 75 days in jail.

Dustin Sippel, 25, said he was playing with the weapon while going to the bathroom last November when it accidentally went off.

No one was hurt downstairs, but prosecutors said the bullet grazed a tub that was being filled for a child’s bath. Sippel admitted drinking four beers and smoking marijuana before the incident.
