Wisconsin leads nation in number of Senate ads: 1 ad every 2 minutes

Posted on October 15, 2010

More Senate ads have aired on television here between Sept. 1 and Oct. 7 than in any other state, according to a report released this week by the Wesleyan Media Project at Wesleyan University in Connecticut.

Researchers found that 18,256 Senate ads ran in Wisconsin in those five weeks. That was tops in the nation, ahead of Nevada and its 17,777 ads.

How many ads is that in Wisconsin? Assuming the ads run in the 16 hours between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., there would be an average of one TV ad somewhere in the state every two minutes.
