A windy storm forced ice from Green Bay onto the marina breakwater wall at Menominee MI. The storm dumped more than a foot of snow on Marinette WI. and Menominee MI. Wednesday. The city of Menominee closed 1st Street from 6th to 14th Avenue because of drifting snow blown off of Green Bay.

With heavy snow and potential blizzard conditions hitting Wisconsin this week, Wisconsin Emergency Management's ReadyWisconsin campaign is asking families to protect themselves by planning ahead for the weather and taking three simple safety steps:
1. The combination of dry, heavy snows with powerful winds is expected to create blizzard conditions throughout the southern portion of the state. If you must travel, check on the road conditions before you start your trip by calling 511 or by visiting www.511wi.gov.
2. Pack a winter kit for your car and keep it in an area where you can always reach it. If you become stranded and must wait for help, you may need the items to stay safe. Your kit should contain an extra blanket, protein bars or other nonperishable food items, a bottle of water, a flashlight with extra batteries and a car charger for your cell phone.
3. Be sure to wear multiple layers of clothing if you head outdoors this week. A hat, scarf and gloves can help fight frostbite, and a tightly woven coat is your best defense against strong winter winds.
...most of us know these already, but it NEVER hurts to remind people.
Stay warm and safe!

Looks like ESPN's Sports Illustrated's weather gurus have taken the day off and the B-team is scheduling the forecasts for Saturday's game against Northwestern.
Sunny and 72 at kickoff? Whoah!
