UW-River Falls student arrested for shoplifting a pair of sterling silver Cubic Zirconia earrings

River Falls Police arrested a 22-year-old UW-River Falls student for shoplifting a pair of sterling silver Cubic Zirconia earrings at ShopKo last Thursday night. When questioned, the man said he was looking for a birthday gift for his sister but didn’t want to pay the $11 price so he pocketed the earrings. The officer, with a discerning eye, noted the earrings were actually on sale for $8.99. The man was handcuffed, taken to the police station and given a $177 fine.
