Viroqua man argues right to sell raw milk
VIROQUA, Wis. — A Viroqua man believes unpasteurized milk saved his life, and he's going to court to defend his right to sell it.
Max Kane Farley says he was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at age 10. He says after suffering for 13 years, he went on a diet of raw meat, eggs and milk — and claims his symptoms went away.
Wisconsin regulators tried to get details about Kane Farley's Chicago-based private club selling unpasteurized milk after a woman claimed her 16-year-old son got sick from it.
A bill to allow sale of raw milk is working its way through the Wisconsin Legislature, but Kane says it's his constitutional right to sell it now through his club. He's making that argument Monday before a Vernon County Circuit Court judge.
